Popular with North American cowboys and outlaws alike, the Smith and Wes Machine Pistol showed promise and was marketed as a military weapon. Programed to replace the in service pistol at the time, production was held up due to a supply problem with finding a suitable holster. Showing promise as the First full automatic weapon ever designed, it was hindered by being a revolver Having only 6 shots. Due to the black powder which produced a wall of smoke, the target was concealed after firing was a bit worrisome. Shell performance was lacking as was all ammo of this time period. Production was stopped when the company claimed that that plans were eaten by their dog, unfortunately this was disappointing.
